Mössbauer Studies in Chinese Archaeology: A ReviewY. Hsia, H. Huang Department of Physics, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210008, China Abstract The Mössbauer effect has been applied to a wide variety of objects related to Chinese archaeology. Besides ceramic artifacts, materials like porcelain, glazes, bronzes, ancient coins, ancient mineral drugs, and even fossils were studied. This article reviews these applications with particular emphasis on the study of the famous terracotta warriors and horses of the Qin Dynasty.
